Water Tank (Watermill)

Overview

The Water Tank (TileTankWater) is a specialized tank structure in Railcraft that is designed to collect and store water. It can be used in conjunction with watermills for power generation.

Structure

The water tank uses standard tank patterns but with water-specific configuration:

  • Uses iron tank wall blocks
  • Designed for water collection
  • Can be filled by water sources

Tank Type

Inherits from TileTank with TankDefinition.IRON:

  • Capacity per block: 1 bucket × RailcraftConfig.tankPerBlockCapacity()
  • Resistance: 20.0 explosion resistance

Available Sizes

Same size options as standard Iron Tank:

3×3 Tank

Height Capacity
4-8 Variable

5×5 Tank

7×7 Tank

9×9 Tank

Water Output

The water tank has automatic output capabilities:

  • Output faces: DOWN, EAST, WEST, NORTH, SOUTH
  • Can push water to adjacent fluid pipes/tanks
  • Used for supplying water to boilers or other machines

Structure Pattern

Uses the same buildPatterns() method as TileTank:

  • Same structural patterns as standard tanks
  • B - Wall blocks
  • W - Glass viewing panels
  • M - Master/valve position

Usage

  1. Build the tank structure using iron walls
  2. Place the water tank valve (master block)
  3. Fill with water via rain collection or manual input
  4. Connect to boiler or other water consumers
  5. Water automatically outputs to connected pipes

Relationship to Watermill

The water tank + watermill system provides:

  • Water-powered energy generation
  • Renewable power source
  • Requires water supply infrastructure
